The Wedding Experience

My role as a wedding photographer is to capture your special moments so that you can enjoy them for the rest of your life, sharing them with generations to come. Through the process of making the most of an engagement session and wedding day, my relationship with couples often transforms from a business relationship to a friendship as we celebrate their marriage together. By developing this relationship, I hope to become your lifetime photographer in the years to come.

After the wedding, the photos and memories will be a precious keepsake of your beautiful day. The investment you make in your Raleigh wedding photographer will direct the experience of your wedding, ceremony and reception. I look forward to getting to know you and learning more about your unique love story and the wedding you imagine!

THE WEDDING EXPERIENCE PROCESS

The Inquiry

GETTING STARTED

Upon our initial meeting, I will ask you to complete the first step of filling out the get-in-touch form and sharing your love story, as well as a vision for your perfect wedding. As your Raleigh wedding photographer, I will offer you sample galleries to view. These will be specifically based on your venue and vision for the day. If we are a good fit, you will sign the online contract and pay the retainer, which is 1/3 of the total wedding package price.

The Bridal Guide

AFTER BOOKING

Once you have officially booked me as your Raleigh wedding photographer, you will receive a copy of my 60+ page bridal guide. The guide offers tips and timeline ideas to help you in the process of planning your wedding. Many clients find this to be extremely useful as they delve into the wedding planning process, especially when it comes to deciding on a ceremony time!

Engagement

The Engagement Session

6-12 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

The next step is to set a date for your engagement session. The date is up to the couple, but I recommend scheduling at least six months before the wedding so that there is plenty of time to send out save-the-date announcements. You can either choose a location that is meaningful to you as a couple, or I am happy to provide a list of ideas for you to choose from.

This is a great time for me to get to know you, and for you to experience being in front of my camera! It’s also an opportunity for me to capture images of you in non-wedding attire, surrounded by an everyday setting. It’s such a fun photo shoot and a fantastic way to get comfortable in front of the camera.

Timeline

The Custom Timeline

3-4 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

A few months before the wedding, I will email you a questionnaire that will provide me with necessary details, such as location, family shot list, and reception event details. After I receive your response, I will put together a customized timeline based on first-look, timing of the ceremony, family portrait combinations, and other details that are unique to your ceremony. Outlining these specific details ahead of time will create efficiency and ease, guaranteeing a beautiful day.

We will work together so that you won’t have to worry about anything on your special day. Your only job on the day of the wedding is to have an amazing time celebrating with friends and family! I will have your timeline with me on your wedding day and will reference it throughout your ceremony and reception. I do not want you to worry about anything; just enjoy one of the best days of your life!

The Wedding Day

THE DAY YOU SAY “I DO!”

Your big day is finally here! The excitement is contagious on this most precious day. I will arrive at the location you have chosen to get dressed before the ceremony. My second shooter will photograph the groom and groomsmen, and I will focus on the bride and bridesmaids.

During the ceremony, we will use the previously created timeline for shots, as well as capture special moments as they unfold. This will be a memorable and intimate time for the couple, but also for the entire wedding party.

The Images

The Images

4-5 WEEKS AFTER THE WEDDING

Following the wedding, I know you will be anxious to see the photographs, so I will email you several preview images from your big day a few days after the wedding. I will spend the next 4-5 weeks editing your images and preparing them for delivery.

Couples receive approximately 700-900 images based on details of the day and hours of coverage. You, your family and friends may purchase prints of the images for personal use through your online gallery or print elsewhere if you prefer. I always recommend downloading the images to your personal computer as a backup to the digital gallery.

Signature Album

The Signature Album

2-3 MONTHS AFTER THE WEDDING

In the following months after your wedding, if you have chosen a signature album, I will work with you to create a collection of your favorite images from your wedding day. See an example of the signature album here. It is a beautiful collection of images that tells the story from start to finish of your wedding day to share with generations to come.
